Ngo Thanh Phuong

NGO Thanh Phuong currently works at Vietnam’s Arabesque Dance Studio as a choreographer, and teaches contemporary dance at the Dance School of Hochiminh City. She is also founder of the Open Stage Project.

Ngo graduated in 1999 from the Dance School of Hochiminh City in Vietnam, and in 2008 from the Folkwang Hochschule in Germany. She has worked with numerous choreographers including Mark Ziekarek, Rodolpho Leoni, Stephan Brinkmann, and Ea Sola.

Her choreographic repertoire includes Sorry, thanks, and sorry..., Pair of shoes, and Circle of time for the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra, and experimental works for the Open Stage Project. She received the ‘Best Choreography’ award from the 2012 Korea International Modern Dance Competition, and in the same year received a grant for her art experimental choreographic work, Erasable, from Denmark’s Cultural Development and Exchange Fund.
