Description

Accents of Southeast Asia looks towards the Southeast for a bounty of dance offerings from the culture-rich lands of Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore: By You In This Instance I Mean Me by Goh Shou-Yi (Singapore), Fragment by James Kan (Malaysia), and Eighteen by Ngo Thanh Phuong (Vietnam).

By You In This Instance I Mean Me is the expression of choreographer Goh’s inner dialogue on a very personal sojourn: ‘where I have been, where I am and where I want to be.’

Fragment ‘Fragmented memories of a crippled soul, tainted by hypocrisy, amidst illusion and reality: who cares about the truth? After the last frenzy under the battlefield of broken light and shadow, all is shattered to bits…’

Eighteen is about the struggles of a Vietnamese woman who yearns to get out of the Vietnamese Family culture, to live independently and freely.

There will be a post-show dialogue after the performance.
