Jakarta Arts Institute

The Jakarta Institute of the Arts is the one and only higher education specializing in arts located at the heart of the capital city of Indonesia, the city of Jakarta. This art institute started as the Jakarta Education Institution of the Arts established by the Governor of Jakarta under the supervision of the Foundation of the Arts of Jakarta. In 1985 this art school changed its name to Jakarta Institute of the Arts. The journey of 40 years has given significant development and growth both in academic works as well as in art activities, research, and community services. The Jakarta Institute of the Arts has been pioneering the development of arts and its industries, in cooperation with leading institutions inside the country as well as overseas. This art institute has for quite some time been the school of thought, growth and development of traditional and non-traditional arts in Indonesia.
