Motivating Dance to the Motives

DATE / TIME

Sunday 16 June, 10am – 11:30am

CONDUCTED BY

Ji Kyungmin

LEVEL

B/I

Dancers who dance without motivation look different. How will motivation and thought affect our movement in dance? How would it feel if movement stems from a certain thought? What if moving my hand is not a step, but a part of a cognitive process? Perhaps this may spark uniqueness in our movement.

By bringing an awareness to our spines, we will use it as a roadmap to guide the body through movement in space, from floor to standing, and back down. An Anatomical & Sensory Approach

DATE / TIME

Tuesday 25 June, 12pm – 1:30pm

CONDUCTED BY

Goh Shou Yi

LEVEL

I/A

The approach of the class is to realise the tactility of the body within our anatomical capacity.

We will begin with a guided improvisation section, adopting a microscopic approach with the goal of detection – to find an awareness and relate and connect with our body. We will then tap on this renewed consciousness and apply it through the learning of some set movements towards the end of the class.

This class is recommended to those 17 years old and above with some prior dance training.
