See independent dance artists collaborate and conjure original dance works in this brand new edition of Co.Lab.Asians. Now merged with DiverCity, Co.Lab.Asians continues to champion the dynamic energy our evolving local dance scene.
In this triple bill programme, Co.Lab.Asians sees the return of 2019’s Festival artists Adele Goh and Syimah Sabtu, and an intriguing cross-disciplinary collaboration by Ruby Jayaseelan, Bani Haykal and Irfan Kasban.
Fresh from Disappearing Act at DiverCity 2019, dance artist Adele Goh launches into a new duet with award-winning Korean artist Kwon Hyuk, after being talent spotted by SIDance at last year’s Festival.
In this exciting follow-up, choreographer Syimah Sabtu presents the fully-realised production of her work H A S E R, which grabbed eyeballs when it was presented as a work-in-progress at 2019’s Off Stage.
In cross-disciplinary work TERBALEK, movement artist Ruby Jayaseelan performs a solo exploring mental impairment as a physical score mirroring the tumultuous ups and downs of the mind. She is joined by experimental sound artist Bani Haykal and production designer Irfan Kasban in a carefully curated installation of sound and images.
