Information on Festival Scholarships
Current full-time dance students enrolled in local dance institutions (SOTA, NAFA and LASALLE) may be selected as Festival Scholarship recipients only through your respective dance departments, and are hence not eligible to apply. Alumni from these institutions who have graduated within the last 2 years, and have not received a Festival Scholarship previously, may apply.
Local and Southeast Asian students who are currently in overseas vocational dance training courses are eligible to apply if you are intending to be in Singapore during our Festival period.
Dance hobbyists or enthusiasts in Singapore and Southeast Asia who are intending to pursue a professional or semi-professional contemporary dance career, but not yet enrolled in a dance institution, may also apply.
Please note that airfares, travel insurance, accommodation and per diems are not provided for overseas applicants.
If successful, Festival Scholarship recipients will be entitled to attend 1 full intensive (3 or 5 days), 2 shows and 3 classes/workshops (1.5 hours per session) at no cost, but will be expected to contribute to the Festival voluntarily and demonstrate independent active learning through initiating conversations with our Festival artists.
Applicants are required to submit a 5-minute video of your recent choreography/performance, CV, recent head shot or performance shot, as well as a recommendation letter from a dance teacher or a referee’s contact details. Please complete this application form by 25 April 2019, 11:59PM. Successful applicants will be informed of application results via email or phone call by 14 May 2019. The Festival team reserves the right to reject any incomplete applications.
