AFX – Asian Festivals Exchange

CONTACT initiates a series of residencies with 3 festival partners: the Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC), Seoul Dance Collection and Yokohama Dance Collection. Rounding off this exciting line-up is a solo artist from the Guangdong Dance Festival.

Yuriko Suzuki from the Yokohama Dance Collection embarks on an intensive three-week collaboration in Singapore with pioneer member of T.H.E Second Company, Liz Fong. Award-winning Korean choreographer Choi Myung Hyun gets inspired by Malaysia’s burgeoning contemporary dance scene, in an exchange of ideas and styles with former Cloud Gate dancer and DPAC Dance Company’s Artistic Director Wong Jyh Shyong. The Guangdong Dance Festival’s Xu Shui Liang evokes a sense of loss and disquiet through the skillful use of light, sound and space.

There will be a post-show dialogue after the Wed 4 Dec performance.
