Júlia Robert Parés
One of the two founders of Humanhood, Robert trained at the London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) as well as receiving a Postgraduate in Physical Theatre from the Royal Holloway University. Humanhood has worked with Akram Khan and Jasmin Vardimon, and has been invited by Hofesh Shechter and Russel Maliphant. In 2016 they travelled to India to undertake a learning process with Sheela Raj, founder of ‘Moving Breath’ method. They are also Associate Artists at macbirmingham, Déda Derby and Birmingham DanceXChange. Accolades and works include Madrid Choreographic Competition – finalist and Masdanza official selection short duet, The Mask behind Doors, and current outdoor piece Nomadis. An excerpt of Humanhood’s first full-length piece Zero, was presented as part of Binary – International Artists Showcase at the M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival 2017. A 15-minute extract of Zero was awarded 1st Prize at Madrid Choreographic Competition in December 2016.
