Three of Singapore's most current and active dance companies, each with their unique styles, come together in an display of local diversity and variety. 3 From Singapore is the inaugural installation of an ongoing series that aims to promote increased artistic exchange among local dance artists and companies. Do not miss this opportunity to watch the Singapore Dance Theatre, Frontier Danceland and T.H.E Dance Company perform side by side one another in an evening that will promise only the best that local dance has to offer.

Three young locally based female choreographers come together in Momento, a performance representing a new breed of dance artists. From themes that are deeply personal to those that border on social commentary, each of them will present a work that reflects themselves and the things that are important to them. Highlights include Yarra Ileto's contemplative, Cumulus, a new work that draws inspiration from a Japanese haiku about respite from the challenges of pursuit, and Lee Ren Xin's well received Do You Miss Me, first premiered at the National University of Singapore Arts Festival 2010. Their works will be danced by T.H.E Second Company. Special guest dancer Chou Shu-Yi (Taiwan), recent winner of the 2010 Sadler's Wells Global Dance Contest, will also perform a work in this evening length performance. Momento promises to be an evening filled with youthful energy and vigour.

Edge will be an evening featuring the premier of Korean choreographer Kim Jae Duk's new work, Bohemian Parody, for T.H.E Dance Company. Described by certain critics as attention grabing, refreshing and innovative, Kim's works are based on interdisciplinary performance and attempt to transgress the borders between traditional genres of dance and music. Also featured will be Kim dancing along with his own company, Modern Table, in a work titled Clocker. In addition, artistic director of T.H.E Dance Company, Kuik Swee Boon, will show a new work-in-progress, As It Fades, as well as Waterbloom, a work first premiered in February 2009 that highlights the intimate relationship between man and his environment.
