Gil Kerer

Choreographer & Performer (Nice To Beat You - M1 Open Stage + DiverCity)


Gil is an independent dancer and choreographer based in Tel Aviv, beginning his professional career in young Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company from 2005-2007. In 2009 he joined Vertigo Dance Company and still collaborates with the company in various roles and projects. Gil works with numerous independent choreographers, such as Niv Sheinfeld&Oren Laor, Maya Brinner, Dana Ruttenberg Dance Group and Rachel Erdos.

As choreographer, Gil has created the piece Dive, which won the 1st prize in the choreography competition in the MASH Festival 2011 in Jerusalem and 3rd prize in ILDANCE choreography in Gothenburg (SE). 2012 saw the creation of Silent Parts, as part of an invitation from MASH Festival 2012.  In 2014, he created the duet Between Us – which premiered as part of Dance Arena Festival in Jerusalem, and won artistic acclaim both from the press and from artistic directors. The piece was invited to tour in several countries throughout 2015. In 2015 he created a new trio piece – The H Dilemma For Maya Dance Theatre in Singapore, and was later invited to create and perform in Uruguay with a new solo piece The Child, which premiered in Solos Al Mediodia Festival In Montevido, and was created in artistic residencies in Italy, La-Gomera Island and Montevideo.

Gil also teaches across a variety of dance platforms, focusing on contact improvisation, contemporary dance classes, repertoire and movement research.
