Elías Aguirre



A dancer, choreographer, photographer and visual artist, Elías graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and the Dance Conservatory of Madrid, and obtained a Master in Performing Arts at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid (Spain). He currently runs his own dance company in Madrid, Cía. He is also a guest teacher in the Consevatorio Superior Danza in Madrid’s María de Avila, Universidad Europea, Universidad in Caceres, Conservatorio in Malaga, Conservatorio in Burgos and other private schools in Spain. Elías has performed and taught workshops in several cities in Spain, Cuba, Israel, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Bahamas, EEUU, Sweden, Byelorussian, Germany, Poland, Austria, Check Republic, Egypt France, UK, Brussels, Italy, New Zeeland, Senegal, Portugal, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Austria, and Jordanian. He has very special interest in the nature world, particularly insects, as inspiration for his choreographic works, as well as combining contemporary dance with urban dance techniques. Some of his works has been awarded and performed internationally such as 87grillos, Entomo (with Alvaro Esteban), White Room, Escuálido Marsupial (with Manuel Rodriguez), Longfade, Fight or Flight, Flightless and Shy Blue. As part of his career as choreographer and dancer, he also develops many international projects in photography and video dance.
